Never ever let success go to your head
There's an alarming trend taking place: People who have had some degree of good fortune and success tend to lose their humility and become at least slightly arrogant. This is very unfortunate for many reasons. First, and most obviously, no one really wants to be around someone who is arrogant. It's boring, and it's annoying! Arrogance implies a lack of gratitude. The assumption is, "I did this all by myself; it's all about me." Factors such as Lord's blessings, good fortune, and so on are forgotten or disregarded.
In addition, when you allow success to go to your head, your stress levels skyrocket and your quality of life gradually disappears. People will stop liking you, and eventually, you'll stop liking yourself.
Friendships slip away; obsessive business and a lack of time take over. Someone who was happy and relatively easy to please is now almost not possible to satisfy.
I've read articles about celebrities, athletes, and business people who have done really well – their talent, timing, hard work, luck, and all the rest of it kicked in at just the right time. Yet, rather than being grateful and keeping a sense of perspective, they think that they are somehow better or more important than others simply because they're good at something and have enjoyed some success.
Cricketers score a century or even a double ton in there life's first test match, but what happens later, ever after 50 innings, these people may find hard to score a full fledged 50 runs in an innings. In Business, if you start to get good orders in first or second day, you think you are the best, but later even after months together you may not even smell about the order. Even film stars, the first movie is super-duper hit, but later nothing comes there way and they will be having only one movie as a big hit in there kitty, later with all flop movies.
Therefore Never ever let success go to your head!
I have a very good story and some people may think this is ridiculous. But it's true. A man wants his daughter to get married and starts looking for a boy from a good family. One day a boy comes to see the girl and the girl's father and family members are very much happy with the boy and his family. But later he comes to know that the boy's family doesn't own a house and they stay in a rented house. This makes girl's father upset and he tells something and cancels the engagement. The girl's father is a wealthy man and he wants to get his daughter to get married to a wealthy family only. For him the boy's good doings and other things are secondary. Also he forgets that the boy holds a master degree and he works for a good company and with another year or two the boy himself will be in a position to buy a house. But for the father's ego, this is not required and he starts thinking of his own success and wealth. Thus he himself makes the way to let his success go to his head.
Always thing if you are successful in some criteria that something very seriously bad thing is coming behind you to take your happiness and smile away.
So to keep yourself happy and smiling with your well wishers, Never ever let success go to your head.
